Recently it was our great joy to perform in Marfa, Texas, at the groundbreaking for El Cosmico-a unique concept for a residential area/hotel/community center for the arts.  We are especially grateful to El Cosmico founder Liz Lambert, who let us share in the celebration of her new project and her birthday (which occurred on the same day).  Pictures of the event and further information about El Cosmico can be found at www.elcosmico.com.

Several other bands performed during the festivities, and we all enjoyed the music of  local artist Adam Bork as well as the country rock of Austin favorites Li'l Cap'n Travis.  Our favorite highlight was watching Marfa Records' Amy Cook perform a great show with our own Brad Rice on guitar.  The Tift band had a blast on the El Cosmico stage, which was simply a continuation of the excellent vibes that we all felt for the entire two-day period.

While in town Tift took the rest of the band to visit Marfa Public Radio (KRTS 93.5 FM), where she plans to broadcast an artist to artist feature program starting in 2007.

We're looking forward to the Tall Stacks Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, this weekend.  October should be a great deal of fun as we will be playing several shows together and performing some of Tift's great new songs.
