I was delighted to have the Austin DVD delivered today.. ahead of schedule, no less..

Tift looked and sounded fantastic.... 'Virginia' in particular had a unique reading different from the recorded version.. just great

I received mine today, Oct. 30th. Gosh, I love that song - Virgina, No One Can Warn You.

This fan is a day late (but not a dollar short, I'm happy to say).

It's great to see the full show, although I missed the canned intro from the PBS program (you know, the one about the "high-energy roots rock" or some such silliness).

We all know Tift's a great singer/songwirter with a top-flight band. What this DVD reminds us is that she's a stellar performer. Think about it. It's a sterile soundstage with a subdued audience. Cameras are all up in her ... face. And she's belting those tunes with aplomb.

I was so excited when my DVD arrived on Tuesday. However, when I tried to view it my DVD player would not come on. Now I have to buy a new one. I wanted to wait until they decided whether HD-DVD or Blueray would be the standard, but I guess that won't be happening anytime soon. Next on my agenda, Tift at Schoolkids.

I am holding off on watching mine until next Fri evening when I have some folks getting together at my mom's who has 5:1 surround sound upstairs and a big flat-screen. Think I'll make it that long? Hmm . . .

Mitch, I know T felt good about that performance. Cant' wait to be able to comment further.

I have to confess that our household has yet to progress beyond VCR. Now seems to be the right occasion to make that technological leap though.
 I can't think of  a better reason.

Stick the thing in your 'pooter, Paul. Pair of decent headphones and you're in Blissville.

Yes I did think about that, but the chances of me hogging the pc at the expense of others needing to Runescape or MyBeboFaceSpaceBookNetworking thing are about as remote as me winning the Lotto. (Although I always seem to win on Virginia State Lottery scratchcards from Krogers when we come over) so I think a VCR DVD combi is the way forward.

Hope you have a great DVD party tonight Phillip
