And today of course IS Tuesday, May 13. The site calendar says Thursday, May 15, but it's wrong. So is your desk calendar if it says that. So is the government. Are you seriously going to argue with me about it, implying that I am two full days late in putting up the Tuesday bootleg? I am not believing this. After all the work I do for you people. Traitors!

Thursday, who said anything about Thursday? Today is obviously Friday but if we have to scroll back the week to Tuesday I can live with that, especially with Tift and the NC Symphony there to liven things up. This is the rainbow I've been praying for, I Just Want To Shout and Sing and Shine, Shine, Shine! Ever since I jumped into the net here with you all I've been wondering about this concert, the photos are unbelievable, she looks so free and projecting so much bliss on the stage in front of all the symphony members it's a wonder that the music doesn't just burst out of the jpegs at top volume, my jpeg was sleeping, talk about a lie! Seriously, thank you Phillip, every week since I've been hangin here I've been constantly suprised and amazed at what you guys have, what I really like is that there is a continuous thread in Tift's music, tied to her unique, beautiful voice and who she is, what she feels, what she brings comes through no matter what the song is, where it was recorded or what arrangement or tempo was chosen for a particular performance, live or in the studio her songs are all filled with a rare beauty that is extraordinary, in part because in spite of her exceptional talents as a writer, singer and a musician she remains humble and real, as real as the person in the cubicle across from you or in the car next to you in the morning or the kids waiting at the bus stop. Tift will not be anyone's American Idol, we are not building a pedestal or a throne but a home, just as she built a foundation, walls, windows, a roof and open doors for us one breath, one word, one line, one song, one show at a time. And if you don't believe me just ask her new friend Haruo who wrote the most awesome postcard from Paris about his first Tift show in London on Tuesday and the genuine warmth and sincerity he experienced watching her performance and sharing his enthusiasm with her afterwards. I said in another post that her US tour was getting to be legendary, now it's worldwide, global and blooming like a force of nature. Buy a copy of Another Country today and give it to someone you love.

If TM ever seeks a fan to write the liner notes for a future album, I vote for Tom.
