Pardon me for starting a separate topic but the old one was getting so long--I'm not trying to kill that one cuz I'm still having fun with it, but I thought maybe we'd use a fresh one just for the real nuts and bolts of making this event happen in little more than TWO WEEKS.
Latest is that T and Z will be in the area a very short time and most of the weekend will be taken up with rehearsal with the symphony, which they've only done once and it was a while back. But they will definitely be around after the show for a bit of fun and Forrest's group photo shoot is in the plan.
BossChris gets into RDU around 5 pm on Sat and we are now trying to plan a nice evening out at a quality eatery-drinkery--any of you who are interested, please reply to this post with a head count--family and good friends and potential one-night stands you just picked up are welcome too. Also, feel free to contribute suggestions for location, as we haven't made that call yet.
I propose we rendez-vous again at 4:30 Sun. with our victuals and libations in tow so we can get a primo spot--nobody in the T-Z camp knows anything about the possibility of reserved seating areas so they suggested we jump the gun on that.
That's where we are. Y'all's turn. P |

| Hey Z--we're supposed to pick him up, but if something weird happens, can we use you as a backup? And I'm assumiing by "be there" you mean you'll want to join us for refreshment, yes? |

| I will be around for Saturday night, pre party, post party, dinner, drinks, dancing, whatever happens to present its self. I've got Sat-Sun marked in for the TMSTFC. |

Sorry, but I will not be able to make the pre-show party. My wife is already PO'd that I am going to be hanging out with Tift-addicts that I don't know. I think she is afraid that you will corrupt me (it could happen).
Anyway, where are we meeting on Sunday? I have not been to Koka Booth, but I plan to scope it out on Saturday when I take the wife to RDU. |

I won't be getting back into town before it is actually Sunday so I won't be able to participate in the Saturday evening festivities.
I thought the premises was opening before 5 and they were going to have all-day entertainment, but I guess I just remembered that incorrectly. Still, with gates opening at 5 I suggest we arrive early enough to be first in line, not just there when the gates open. Since it's a free show, we can put our chairs down next to the stage and then wander back outside without issue, and anyone can sit in our chairs if we're not there during any part of the WRAL band.
Speaking of the album, is it done?

It looks increasingly likely that out-of-town family duties will keep me away from the show (argh!), but I will be in Raleigh that Saturday night.
It would be nice to meet the people behind the posts. If a slacker who can't make the show can still join the pre-show festivities, please let me know.
(I'll compensate Sunday by rotating Bramble Rose, Tambourine, and Home Is Loud during the long Sunday drive.) |

I guess the thing to do is for everyone to meet at the hotel where P and A and C are staying at whatever the best time is, maybe 6:30-7:00. Hub, if your ditching the wife at RDU anyway, why not join us Sat. nite? What she don't know won't hurt you, until she finds out. |

Zach's plan sounds good--C and we aren't staying in the same hotel but they are more or less adjacent to each other. Since we have a car, we're picking C up, so perhaps it would make sense to congregate at his hotel, which is the Courtyard. Mitch, you are definitely welcome. Y'all wanna shoot for a 6:30 meetup so we don't all starve/dry up? We'll already have a place picked out with directions so we don't wander around with our thumbs up our ass.
Hub and Forrest, I was thinking maybe we meet up on Sunday at 4:30, but if anyone thinks that is too late, speak up. It ain't nailed down yet. |

| Ditching the wife at RDU won't work because it is this Saturday. She'll be back next Thursday. |

| I don't know about Forrest, but I plan to be there at 4:00 PM. I am always first in line at Tift Concerts. Well, maybe 3rd a few times. When Tift played at Cat's Cradle there were always the same people there at the head of the line. |

| We need to talk about that Zach - I'm in charge of finding us a few restaurant choices, so I need to know what people's preferences are for price range and food type. Or if you have some suggestions, bring 'em on. Well folks? What say ye? |

| I'm not picky at all about food, so I'm pretty open to wherever we go. If I have to wear a tux though, I'm going to wonder about you two. |

| When me and my friends go out in Raleigh we usually eat dinner, then head downtown to go bar hopping. There is just about any thing to eat that you could want, I know a good Italian place, a couple of great steak places that aren't to pricey, and several Bar/Grille/TapRooms. The City Market area has some cool places to hang and get a beer, and the Glenwood Ave area is the happening place to be on a weekend. |

| No tuxes Boss. We're from Wilmington. In Wilmington, your proper-dress decisions, as the cliche goes, involve whether you wear your beach flip-flops or your leather flip-flips. Pretty much anything I would go out in public in, I'll go to our finest establishments in. Here's the thing--Andie's waiting to hear from some Raleigh-area members of her restaurant list, which is really awesome--they know the score. That will help us. Meanwhile, any expressions of preference will be good. (FWIW, Andie's restaurant list has the double thumbs-up from the Tiftster, who used it in NYC to her success back in the winter.) |
