You can watch a video of Late Night Pilgrim from the Cambridge Folk Festival web site--follow the link on this site's homepage and go from there. Question: Who is the guy playing lead guitar and singing harmonies? Phillip |

Hi Phillip,
Is the website you're talking about http://www.cambridgefolkfestival.co.uk? I went there but I couldn't find any links to a video.

Hi there,
The guy playing guitar with Tift at Cambridge was James Walbourne. He's a young guy from London, England, and he's an amazing guitarist, I think. I know he's played with Son Volt, and he has his own band called Royal Gun. He also played in Tift's band for the European shows in April.
I saw both of Tift's sets at Cambridge - they were great, and she seemed to be a big hit with the crowd! |

Hi Gary,
Do you have any pictures that you would like to put up on this website? We have some pics from a few of her shows, but we're always looking for more.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for setting up this site!
I have photos from a couple of shows. How do I submit them, do I e-mail them to the Contact Address?

Hi Vicky,
You don't have to thank me. It's a labor of love!
Yes, if you could submit the pics to admin@tiftmerritt.net, that would be fantastic.

Chris, I'll try to find an exact link to vids on the Cambridge site.
The new pics from Cambridge are really good, and remind me of something
distinctive about Tift's performances--she frequently has to play solo
to decent-sized crowds, and it really takes a lot of kahunas to play
her style of music solo to a crowd that isn't composed, of course, of
screaming teens. It's one thing to play pretty ballads alone with
a guitar, but to do rock songs and all-outs like I Am Your Tambourine
and Shadow by yourself in front of people who aren't going nuts takes a
lot of guts, and I've admired that about her since the first time I saw
her, which was in a club where probably 40% of the audience was paying
attention and she was up there by herself playing her heart out.
