Haven't seen a Tift show in a good few months - can you send her back out west? I promise I'll send her back. Maybe.

Don't know, Michael--I think we may still be recovering from her six weeks in L.A. this summer--they were talking back in the summer about a limited West Coast run but it didn't work out--but with the label being out there, I bet it won't be too long before she pops up in L.A. again.

I read your topic title too hastily, and for a moment thought that you meant you're speaking differently. |

I'm with you on the tiftdrawls. Man, that is a bummer, I was really looking forward to some shows this Fall. I was set to make a trek to LA or whatever was required... I guess we'll have to wait until 2008. When is the record due to come out, Phillip?

OK all you 'I-want-it-so-bad' types....
Send your thanks to New West Records (the publishers/producers of Tift's ACL DVD). They've recently put up two full-length songs from the forthcoming DVD onto YouTube, and who knows where else...

You're welcome!
I found that Youtube link via www.last.fm which looks a pretty interesting new kind of social music site where, it looks like you can discover and listen to the sort of music you like based on your own tastes and preferences... I've only just skimmed and clicked around a few pages of the site but it looks worth investigating further when I've got time.
Tift's 'page' is here http://www.last.fm/music/Tift+Merritt
Some familiar looking pics here http://www.last.fm/music/Tift+Merritt/+images (someones posted a few of Forrest's shots )
Don't know if they're already on to it, but is it worth suggesting Tift and/or Fantasy to get some tracks up on the site? ... http://www.last.fm/uploadmusic |

Yes it is worth it--let's see if they do it when they start run-up to release, and if not, we'll put a bug in their ear about it.

Andy, those links are awesome. Maybe that'll help with some Tiftdrawls, otherwise I'll tell all of ya'll about the show at School Kids on 11/13.

I really urge everyone to check out these links. Left unattended, the consequences Tift withdrawal can be really severe. It's been over 18 months since my last Tift show, and recently I've found myself becoming addicted to Gwen Stefani. It could happen to you ....

Well, it could be worse, Vicky. It could be Britney. Let's hope Tift can get there and stage an intervention before it gets TOO bad.

Hell, why don't we just send her. She'll pretty much just go where she has a ticket to.

Oh and Tift doesn't drawl. Don't give her credit where none is due. Like me, her accent is too diluted by too much diversity of cultural exposure in her adult life to qualify as drawl. I suppose she COULD if she wanted, but she'd have to try.

We are celebrating Phillip's 1,000th post and curing any Tift withdrawals by adding some new entries to the Downloads page. If you sort the list by Date in the Sort By dropdown list in the upper right corner of the page, I think all your blues will go away.
