If you haven't looked at tiftmerritt.com in a while, it's worth a re-check--especially the media page, where they've got lots of good audio tracks you can listen to--including a few recent live appearances such as KGSR Austin and KCRW Los Angeles--and these are very good quality recordings.  Check 'em out.

Oh yeah, very nice to see the updates to the .com site, the radio sessions have been a great way to stay in touch with Tift and the boys as they drove all over the country in their rent-a-shoebox. Somebody needs to lease them a bus! Too bad that the fans in Europe won't see the full band, but check out the myspace page for the KCRW version of My Heart Is Free, Danny is leaning so hard on the keys you can almost see the sparks fly out of your speakers, may be the definitive version of this stunning song from Another Country, it sounds just as good or better than the take they played live in Virginia - you've got Tift on acoustic, Scott and Doug on electric, who could ask for more? As much as I love every song on the album, I'm leaing toward MHIF for the next single, make it a live band treatment and they could get some peoples' attention for sure.

I understand that tour buses lease for 10K a week . . . that means in two weeks you've spent approximately a musician's annual income . . . ya gotta sell some damn records to get the label thinking in that direction, to be sure . . ..
