Thanks for the kindness, Chris--and "new biography" is the title of a Van Morrison song.  Very good mojo.

You seemed to have forgotten the part where Tift invented the internet, then inspired Jimi Hendrix to record Foxy Lady.  At least thats how I remember it.  Other than that, great job.

OK you've done it now--I'm posting Ben's biography.  (The man responsible for the Air Supply thing--)

"Tift Merritt comes from Alabama with a banjo on her knee.  She painted the Sistene Chapel ceiling, invented sliced bread, and walks on water. A talented musician, she nonetheless has a tendency to associate with reprobates.  Little known fact:  her album Tambourine was originally entitled Maraca.  'I'm your Maraca, baby.  Shake me like a rhythm gourd.'

It was reworked into its present and more polished form, and the rest, as they say, is history."

I think I've heard the unedited version at the local mexican joint here in town.  Tift sounds good mariachi style imo.

Well Gary, you have to understand, I wrote the Bio the way I write the stuff I get PAID for, as opposed to the stuff I write YOU lot, which of course is complete smack--and loads of fun.  I hope y'all aren't too disillusioned at being shown my respectable side.  I shall strive to make you forget it.
