The Raleigh News & Observer's front page lists today among the most important items for the coming week:
CHANCE TO HEAR TIFT MERRITT LIVE
Top ticket this weekend: Tift Merritt at the N.C. Museum of Art, 8 p.m. Saturday.
Top ticket indeed. |

Not local, but interestingly there's a Toronoto Blue Jays and Tift fan who titled a blog entry recently "It's Just a Shadow in the Way." http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2008/8/17/595731/story-title |

Paul,
I suspect this might be one of the larger gatherings of TMSTFC members. It won't be as large as the March show in Durham, which attracted even far-flung Screaming Teamers such as Andy and DavidK (who traveled from England and Houston, respectively), but the turnout of forum members should be decent.
We should also expect a good group the next day in Wilmington, where Phillip and Andie Reid have been doing great work to get the TM machine revved up for action. |

| Yeah Mitch, it must be really fun. Think someone could take a group picture and have Tift in the middle, that would be a great one. |

I have a ticket for the Raleigh show on Saturday and a fuzzy idea of where the Museum of Art is. Can't make it as far as Wilmington to see all the Reids' hard work, but I trust there will be many pictures from the folks who are there. Is anyone going to be contributing to Tift and the band's anti-sobriety fund this time around? |

The NC Museum of Art is on Blue Ridge Road, just off the Wade Avenue exit. The Wade Avenue exit, in turn, is just on the Raleigh side of where I-40 veers west around Raleigh (coming from Durham). Easy to find. Very close to the RBC center (hockey rink, and, oh, yeah, N.C. State basketball court). I'll have a camera with me, and since my wife is out of town I may be able to stick around after the show. But this show probably will have the most home-town brouhaha of any of them, so I don't know what to expect post-show-wise. They actually sell beer and wine at the venue. They used to let you bring your own, but they changed their policy a couple years ago. Consequently, they search bags and coolers on the way in, so smuggling in any Makers Mark would be non-trivial. |

If you guys can get pictures, especially a group picture, that would be fantastic. Even if you can't get Tift and the band in it, it would still be great to have a group picture. |

This is great to read! You guys getting all excited to see Tift again in Raleigh & Wilmington this weekend - ahhh how I wish I was there again! Hope you get a chance to take some great shots of the Teens and the band like you did last time in Durham, Forrest. I'll be thinking of y'all... You kids have fun now! |

Trop. Storm Fay kept us away, otherwise we might be in Birmingham right about now, SC bound. I hope all the screaming teens have a fun and safe weekend ! Andy, I just luv that shot of the Gibson at rest ! BTW, The E-Town radio performance taped in July is scheduled to air between the 24th and 30th of September. Have a great weekend. Peter |
