Thanks to the boss for putting up a bootleg this week--I just couldn't ever get to it. This is a highly unusual week for me, as normally I am not helping to produce a Tift concert. This week I am, and it is a huge thrill as all of you other fans can understand better than anyone. Only in my imagination--wild as it is--could I have conceived of getting to do that two years ago. But here we are. As it stands now, we may pull off the biggest non-Raleigh-Durham stand-alone Tift show ever. (By "stand-alone" I mean not part of a theater subscription series or a festival.) With the wicked Chatham County Line opening the show, it's gonna be a serious one-two punch. Fortunately for all of us here at .net, our very own Mitch Kokai, videographer to the stars, will be on hand to sell merch (along with his capable coutnerpart Jana) and push REC on the camcorder. We will do our best to document and share all we can. You Raleigh people: It hasn't hit me yet because I'm so buried in checklists, but tomorrow night when I realize that they are playing the NCMA again and I'm not there, I'll have a mild panic attack and send y'all some righteous vibes. Then we will be happy to take your leftover Tift on Sunday. And I will attend more responsibly to my normal duties beginning Tuesday. Love ya. P |
