You might enjoy the narrative (and photos) posted here.

When I played "Tell Me Something True" on my old radio show, I remember saying that she combines the grace of Neko Case and the world-weariness of Lucinda Williams. Since she's talented and has an air of authenticity, you won't find her in your country music channels. You're more likely find her on the NPR stations or your local independent, left of center stations.

The "grace" of Neko Case? That's not the first adjective I'd use to describe her.

Another blogger offers perspective on this performance.

With a well-weathered acoustic guitar, vintage amp, and a healthy dose of southern charm, Miss Merritt managed to draw the hesitant crowd onto the living room’s oriental rug, sitting cross-legged like kindergarteners at the feet of the pint-sized singer.
