just found out that i will be going, shooting this show for josh's management.

tift delivered a great opening set for josh ritter in cincinnati last night. i've seen her many, many times but this was only the second time i've seen her do a solo set, and it was wonderful.

she played for approx 30 minutes and by the end of her set, had the quiet but appreciative crowd in the palm of her hand.

A Cincinnati.com commentary about rowdy fans includes the following:

There was a fascinating moment at the Tift Merritt-Josh Ritter Aug. 4 show at the 20th Century when Merritt actually thanked the audience for letting her songs be heard. She said the last time she was there the crowd drowned out her voice and guitar.
