Ah, that's right. 5 hours ahead, rather than behind.

And what's this crazy thing I hear about you guys driving on the other side of the road?

I think I know what's wrong with Chris's sense of time - he's going by the clock on the tm.net server, which is on, I believe, Fiji time.

Looks like Tift will be on Outlaw Radio on Sirius on Monday at 10am ET.  She'll be performing and chatting, presumably.

Anybody remember the Tiftorian calendar? Let's hope the site isn't on THAT . . .

F, I know Concord's radio team has been working NPR hard, but I don't have dates.

I got in my car at about 7:25 this morning and tuned to 101.5 expecting to hear Tift at 9 when I got to work. I hit the web site around 8:30 and listened until about 9:15. The web site said 7:45, but she wasn't on then, so unless I missed her while walking in from the parking lot she wasn't on. I note WRAL-FM is apparently running her songs about once a day, and then in the middle of the night, although "Broken" has moved up the WRAL charts from 300+ to 50 or so, according to yes.com.

Sorry about the mixup. We found out that the interview was actually recorded yesterday, but will be aired on Wednesday, 2/27 at 7:45 am Eastern Time. I have a link in the Calendar that reads 7:30 am, but that's just for people who are perpetually late. Or, the software is designed to record events on the half hour .

This is a good time for me to talk about the times you see on the site. I really need to get working on a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page, but you know how lazy I am. The server that runs everything is located in Seattle, WA. I'v been extremely happy with the company we're using, but the time difference is definitely a bit strange for people who are used to Eastern Time. However, it is good because we have fans from all over the world (hello, UK!), and we need to stop being so U.S. (and Eastern Time) centric.

If you're not logged into the site, and the times (especially in the forums) look different from when you posted, it's because everything is running on U.S. Western Time. However, if you are logged in, you may notice that the times are correct. It depends on what you have for your time zone setting in your profile. To view your time zone setting or change it, click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen after you're logged in. That will take you to your account page, where you can click on the Manage Profile link to change your settings, including which time zone you're in.

Also, it's a good idea to check that the e-mail address you have supplied is correct. Sometimes, people will make a typo when they enter their e-mail address, and therefore not receive e-mails from the site. This can be a real problem if you have forgotten your password, and asked to have the site automatically e-mail it to you.

Chris, I've often wondered about that time stamp thing. On several occasions, I've looked at a post and said, "Damn, what's Phillip doing typing on this forum at 5 in the morning?" Alternately, I say, "I don't remember typing anything at 5 in the morning. I thought I was sleeping."

I'm glad to see you have the WRAL update. A friend of mine (the newly converted Tift fan who wins props for not cracking up while shooting that silly video of me stapling a TM poster) said she heard the news on the radio.

I caught Bill and Sherry's "live" interview with Tift on WRAL-FM this morning ("We have Tift Merritt on hold right now," they said, before going to eight minutes of commercials). It was amusing. Tift came on and made several references to the taping of the Leno show and being in California, and Bill and Sherry kept saying stuff to make you think it was a live interview. Bill was effusive in his praise. They pushed the album, the song, and the Durham concert. They played Broken, even, and they gave away two copies of the CD. I was disappointed (a) they did not air the winners, and (b) they just gave away two CDs to callers 10 and 11, instead of doing it in two different sessions. All-in-all, though, it was a nice boost - I'm pretty sure Bill and Sherry have a large following, and the timing definitely worked for getting the most out of commuter traffic. Of course, it's always fun to hear Tift.

Tift was 'live' on Johnnie Walker's show on BBC Radio 2 here in the UK yesterday (Sunday 30th March)  You can listen again here...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio2_aod.shtml?radio2/r2_walker

If that link don't work go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/walker/ and click the 'Hear the whole show' link.  (Show is available online until next Sunday 6th April)

This was a session JW said they'd recorded 'recently' - I guess this was when T made the flying visit in Feb to see Bob Harris....She mentions she'd flown to London from LA - was this around the time of the Leno show recording?
You can click through/fast forward to when the Tift segment starts at around 55mins with 'Still Pretending' from the record, then it goes into an interview bit followed by 'Broken' (from AC) and then 2 live songs 'Hopes Too High' and 'Keep You Happy' .  All good stuff of course!  Nothing you won't have heard a dozen times before - she talks about Paris & recording the album in LA, , but great that she got a good dose of exposure on UK national radio - about a 30min stretch in all.  Would have been between about 5.30 and 6pm Sunday afternoon when it went out.
