We're skipping this week's 96-proof bootleg in honor of Tift's iTunes release today of a new recording, "Sweet Spot," along with two other trio performances with Jay Brown and Eric Heywood.
Please head to iTunes to find Tift's latest release. We'll be back with another bootleg selection one week from today. |

This week's bootleg offers another take on the new track "Wasting Away." Few people have had an opportunity to hear Tift perform live with a lineup featuring Eric Heywood, Jay Brown, and John Convertino.
That quartet performed this tune last fall at the N.C. State Fair in Raleigh. Head to this website's downloads section to find this 96-proof selection. |

This week's bootleg offers a second take on the new song "Southern Downtown."
We've featured a full-band version in the past. This week, Tift and her guitar carry the tune alone during a May 2011 performance in Indianapolis. |

Do you think Virginia has a state law requiring Tift to play the song of the same name when she performs in the Old Dominion?
Regardless, Tift and her band rocked the Bramble Rose classic during a 2008 show in Norfolk. Head to this website's downloads section to find this 96-proof classic. |

This week's selection takes us back to November 2007, when Tift was trying out songs that would appear on Another Country.
You'll hear unamplified voice, guitar, and harmonica (along with a little boot-stomp percussion) in a version of "Hopes Too High" from an in-store performance at Raleigh's Schoolkids Records.

Yep, Forrest, that's the show. And that's the boot that's stomping out the time.
The recording device was pretty close to Tift and her guitar. |

| "... from her forthcoming album" you say. Does this mean you have a set list for the new record? |

This week's selection is another brand-new track from the March 23 benefit performance in Raleigh. It's titled "Spring." North Carolinians will appreciate Tift's pollen joke during her introduction.
Head to this website's downloads section to find "Spring" and other 96-proof tracks.
Forrest, I don't have a setlist but made an educated guess that the six new tunes performed at this show would all appear on the new album. Tift had wrapped up work on the album about a week before the performance. |
